"When I found out I was pregnant, I was terrified. It was unplanned and because of my circumstances, I knew adoption was the best plan for me and my unborn baby. I met with a couple of adoption lawyers about my options but because my case was complicated, they wouldn't help me. That's when I was introduced to Elizabeth and Lauren, whom I now consider to be my "legal angels." These ladies work closely with adoption social workers, who are there to support birthmothers during and after the adoption process. Elizabeth and Lauren stood by me, made me feel comfortable and answered the many questions I had, helped me understand the legal process of adoption and have some absolutely incredible families who they represent. I knew one of these families would be able to give my child what I wanted for him or her - a loving, nurturing, two parent, financially and emotionally stable home. When the birth father refused to sign over his rights and the adoption couldn't go through, Elizabeth and Lauren continued to help me. They spent time with me, gave me information on resources I would need and connected me with a family law attorney who has much experience and is well respected in the community. Well, this is Julia. AN ANGEL… Sleeping all night from the 30th day of her being. Ever since a month old, she sleeps from nine to seven, all night long. And the best of it is, she wakes-up with the best smiles... Isn’t it amazing???
It was sooo worth the waiting !!!
We were sad, skeptical and disappointed several times through our adoption journey. However, there was always somebody at the end of the telephone line with those encouraging words and sweet voice giving us comfort and hope. Either Elizabeth or Lauren were always there. I don’t know where they always found the time for us because they are entirely dedicated to always being available to the birth mothers.
